Diese Einheit, die etwa Bataillonsstärke hat, ist der 11th Legion of Vega angegliedert, operiert aber oft ohne die Unterstützung des restlichen Regimentes. Wie die restliche 11.Legion besteht diese Einheit aus Unruhestiftern und Wirrköpfen, die sich aber, ohne Ausnahme, durch beachtliche Kampfleistungen auszeichnen. Ihren Beinamen tragen sie aufgrund ihrer Liebe zu unwegsamen Gelände, das ihren überdurchschnittlich beweglichen Mechs entgegen kommt. Die Sumpfratten fungieren meist als eine Art Vorraustruppe der 11. Legion. Daher besitzen sie auch ein eigenes Landung – und Sprungschiff. Sie sind in der Lage Wochenlang mit Hilfe von Guerillataktiken den Gegner aufzuhalten bis der Rest der Legion oder eine andere Kuritaeinheit eintrifft. Ihre Methoden entsprechen daher auch nicht dem Bushidokodex. In ihren Reihen finden sich weitaus mehr mittelschwere und leichte Mechs als normalerweise in der Legion zu finden sind. Ihr Einheitsabzeichen ist eine Ratte mit einem Wikingerhelm und einem Schwert in der Hand.
