History
In 2810 Clan Sea Fox was founded as one of the founding clans, as such we maintain and hold onto our ideal's as passed down to us from our founders.
During the falling out Clan Snow Raven introduced the Diamond shark into Stranamechties waters, this caused the near extinction of the Sea Fox, in a move that was both typical with CSF mentallity and way of operating a vote was cast and the clan decided to change its name to Clan Diamond Shark.
During this time there was a small group that stood up and refused this action, believing that should such happen they would give in to Clan Snow Raven and its rather dirty tactics, The group was led by Brian Blacksun, This group petitioned first to leave and find their own way (self imposed exile) they where denied, in the end it was decided they would challange the clans decision by using the Right of Refusal.
The right was accepted and while they did win the right the clan still did not change its mind, and they where allowed to take one ship and head back towards the Innersphere. Given the clans status as explorers the loss of a single ship made little difference. It was believed that this group would die in space and that would be that. How ever that was not it.
The clan did arrive in Inner-sphere space, the cover story was simple, their Freighter had gotten lost in a jump and it had taken them years to return, from there it was easier and easier to fit in with their Inner-sphere components. They formed the Sea Wolves mercenary unit and kept their story to themselves. They keep their origins secret, keeping the stories and history to the families of the original group. While outsiders are given only the history of the Sea Wolves unit itself and not their true history.
While others look at them as a bit odd, their style of combat being neither IS based nor Clan based it is a full adaption of the both, Their training with their clans training gives them an advantage over their IS counter parts. They are well known for their hit and run ambush and as one person commented "It was like a pack of piranha's converged on my mech and tore me to shreds before moving on to the next guy". The Sea Wolves keep it as no secret that they operate with a rather strict sense of honor, and make no bones about it being known as such.
Now the ones in charge of the Sea Wolves will not actively interfere with Clan Diamond Shark, nor will they actively help the diamond sharks. To most of them it is merely business, they consider Clan diamond shark to be a seperate clan entirely and as such to be treated as such, they do how ever see the members of clan diamond sharks as being traitors to what they originally stood for. In their way of looking at it they surrendered to Clan Snow Raven and let them win.
The members of Sea Wolves are in their eyes the last of the True Clan Sea Fox, still they are merchants and warriors at heart and will do what they must to survive, keeping their way of warfare alive even amongst those who have no idea who they really are.
Their honor is now their contracts, they will keep to the word of the contract and the spirit of the contract, While they may not live in clan space, they are still clan, their internal politics follow their original clan style, how ever they have had to do away with such terms as Khan ilKhan, and the like replacing them with the IS equivalent.
