The Inner Sphere is a collection of numerous Factions, approximately 1.000 light years across, surrounding Terra and is dominated mainly by the five Successor states (major powers).

This a list of factions that (as of 3049) will make up the majority of the Inner Sphere.
Inner Sphere Factions[ | ]
The Periphery lies beyond the borders of the Successor States. This area of space is predominately made up of poorer worlds with less access to advanced technology. Pirates bands are quite common here. However, a few large nations also call this place home including the newly formed Rim Collection.
