The Dragon was originally designed in a bid to replace the Shadow Hawk. After the 'Mech was turned down by the SLDF, the design was picked up by the Draconis Combine in 2754. The Dragon is primarily built for long-range combat but is capable of handling most threats that close to shorter ranges. With an unusually high ground speed, the Dragon is capable of dictating the ranges that an enemy can engage.
The Dragon DRG-5N(C) is a Champion BattleMech. It features a different stock loadout when compared to the Dragon DRG-5N, but it otherwise identical performance-wise. The DRG-5N(C) can only be purchased with (MC), but it does provide a 10% XP bonus. It also shares the same efficiencies as the standard -5N in the Pilot Lab tree. It is based on the loadout submitted by Phorashi for the Build A Trial Mech - Heavy Edition contest.
The DRG-Fang is a Hero variant of the Dragon. This model most closely resembles the DRG-1C and DRG-1N in terms of hard point layout. The 'Fangs high speed performance matches that of other Dragon models, though the reflexiveness of the torso and arms is slightly downgraded. Like all Hero Mechs, the Fang provides a 30% C-Bill bonus.
The DRG-Flame is a Hero variant of the Dragon. This model is unique compared to other Dragon models in that it does not carry ballistic slots in either arm. Instead, both arms mount dual energy hardpoints. The Flame's high speed performance matches that of other Dragon models, though the reflexiveness of the torso and arms is slightly downgraded. Like all Hero Mechs, the Flame provides a 30% C-Bill bonus.
